B.Y.O.T. (Bring Your Own Tent)

Post date: Apr 7, 2015 12:51:38 AM

If you requested a tent, please consider purchasing, renting or borrowing a tent from friends and family as we don't have enough tents accommodate all of the requests to borrow.

Tents of every size, price and quality can be found not only online, but also at most sporting goods retailers and stores that we shop at frequently: Target, Sam’s Club, Walmart, Costco, Big Five, Sports Authority, Dick’s, Sport Chalet, R.E.I., just to name a few.  Many of these places sell tents for 4-8 people at prices ranging from $50-$150. For example, yesterday I purchased a Coleman 9’x7’ four-person tent for $45 incl. tax from Sears, Buena Park. With Easter/spring sales going on, now the time to get a great deal on a tent!

Alternately, R.E.I. has a great and reasonably-priced rental program (less than $25 per night) that our family has used in past. This is an inexpensive way to try out some middle-to-high-end tents before committing.

In an effort to be fair to all, leadership will assume each family will bring their own tent. Please let Elizabeth or Christina know if you have extenuating circumstances that prevent you from providing your own tent.
